Ah Gong has a deep, dark secret – while his family is planning what they think is a simple vacation to visit their ancestral village in China, he actually plans to kick the bucket somewhere along the way so he can be buried there. However, his plans are foiled along with theirs when they need his passport to buy air tickets, and discover it missing.

Thus begins a quirky journey across Singapore with macabre undertones, but it is actually one of self-discovery for both grandfather and grandson, as they follow the clues in a photo book from Grandma.

In the end, will they find the passport or new perspectives? In this short-form Mandarin drama series, Die Die Must Go Home (死都要回家), we explore the connections between generations even through the ups and downs of life.
